Egypt: After The Flood - Part 1

In its 7,000 years of history, no event changed Egypt more profoundly than the construction of the Aswan High Dam.

The Aswan High Dam was an engineering project to rival any of the works of the Pharoahs, and it forever changed the heartbeat of the river Nile. The cycle of floods and unpredictable famines came to an end, and for the first time, Egypt had something that had previously seemed unimaginable:- water security.

But there were to be unintended consequences, and many of them continue to this day.
