Saab Tuning: Trionic 5 and Trionic 7 BDM Soldering and Rescue - Trionic Seven

Saab built in a BDM connector to their Trionic 5 and Trionic 7 ECU:s so that they can be rescued even when they appear bricked. In this video, I show how to open up the ECU and solder the BDM connector. Then we use the Combi Adapter and flash a new bin with BDM Tool.

Please note: Since publishing this video I have learned that drilling is very risky and can cause permanent damage to the ECU. As always, proceed with caution and instead consider desoldering.

These instructions apply to all Saab cars that run Trionic 5 or Trionic 7, including the Saab 900, Saab 9000, Saab 9-3 and Saab 9-5.

There was a lot of background noise in the lab, so I had to perform some digital noise reduction, that's the reason for the strange audio.
