Graphics Card Necromancy - Diagnostics - Radeon R9 290X Episode 1

It's really hot outside today, which means it is not, in fact, a great day to be in the garage. Instead, we're in my secret lair, working on fixing a piece of machinery of a different type.

This graphics card is the part of a PC that produces the image that you see on the screen. While most people would just throw a broken one away, it's possible to repair them if you know what you're doing, and that's what we're going to attempt here. In this first episode, we'll try to figure out what's wrong with our patient card, so we can go about repairing it in a subsequent episode.
