Neo-Retro Motorcycles

I got to spend a couple days with the Yamaha XSR700 and had so much fun on it. It's the most time I've spent on a bike that wasn't a cruiser, but it got me thinking about neo retro motorcycles versus project bikes. There's pros and cons to both, but I want to know what y'all think.
