My Test : clear "Noname" 1:10 RC Clear Lexan Body Holden Commodore Vodafone 200mm 2010 style
Hi ! This time I bought on Ebay an unpainted Noname 1:10 RC Clear Lexan Body Holden 888 Commodore Vodafone 200mm. It looks to be a V8 SuperCar season 2010 and it was send from Australia. It tooks just 10 days to arrive in Europe.
In the packet, I got :
masking sheet
sticker sheet
the body a bit cutted for the box, it's well detailled and quite strong
the rear wing
the 2 wing mirrors
4 tiny screens to maintain mirrors and wing
BUT no instruction !
So I seek pictures over the net of the original HOLDEN 888 Vodaphone 2010, and it was not easy to find detailled ones, especially for the rear, and close views to understand where to put some little decals.
I used Montana HardCore 400ml Red paint, and a Generic Car Chrome paint for plastic as Silver paint, some nail liner for the black lines.
I noticed some differences :
On the masking sticker sheet,
I found it labelled HOLDEN 888 2011.
OK : the main difference between the 2010 and 2011 edition is the front hood painted in RED, and the flank whose are a bit curved at the front, can be corrected using masking tape.
On the stickers sheet :
I found it to be a mix between the 2010 and 2011 edition :
The label of on the windscreen is the one of the 2010 edition Norton 360
The front hood is the one of the 2011 edition white Vodaphone logo (can it be painted in Red ?)
The 2 huge Vodaphone logo for the flanks are just a bit too small to perform the full cover of the 2011 edition front door. They can be used on hood and roof for a 2010 edition.
No triple "888" logos avaible, nor pilots names.
No white logos Holden or Ecoline for front spoiler
On the body :
The exhaust for 2011 edition had to be placed more forward than the raised form.
Except that, it's perfect !
I finally end up building a 2011 edition, and it quite nice after all.
You can also create a 2012 edition if you can find SAMSUNG stickers to replace NOKIA's.
I May buy a 2nd to realize a 2010 edition, and a 3rd to perform a 2012
Hope this video will help you to optimize your decision.
And please like this video if you like my result.
