Learning the Basics of Slow Stitching: Starting Simple

In this video, I finally try out slow stitching. This relaxing needlework method is a combination of appliqué, embroidery and sashiko stitching. I have a really fun idea for a more complicated slow stitching project, but first I have to figure out what I'm doing! I'm starting with simple geometric designs and basic straight stitches to get the hang of the method. I think these simple pieces look really good, and I think I've figured out some helpful hints that I can use in my next project. Maybe this freeform stitching technique is something that you would like to learn! It's a fun way to practice mindfulness and use up your fabric stash! My next project will be a little bit more involved, but hopefully all these tips and tricks will help it go smoothly!
