EPSolar 4215BN Charging 4S/16Volt Li-Ion Battery, Part 2
Working out the charging and battery protection parameters for the MPPT solar charge controller.
This information should apply to all the EPSolar designed charge controllers with a "User" battery type setting. There are 12 voltages and 2 time duration settings that can be user specified.
I set the battery type to "User", the temperature compensation to "0", the voltage level to the default "Auto" setting and the capacity to the AH of my battery bank. I think the AH (or C) setting determines the target float charge current, roughly 0.01C.
The over voltage cutoff needs to be a few tenths above the charging voltage limit as that charging limit can be exceeded briefly. I set all the charging voltages the same with float 0.1v less. I see about 0.1v difference between what the controller displays and what the battery voltage is, so I bumped all the voltages up that much, YMMV.
