Watercolor Painting | Monstera

Today I’ll be drawing a couple of large Monstera leaves. Aren’t they beautiful and fascinating? By focusing on the sketch, it’s pretty easy to paint. It would look great on a bookshelf or hung on the wall. Let’s paint this together!

First, I’ll carefully sketch the veins on the leaves. Then, I’ll paint the base color using a very light shade. At this time, it would be best to think about the color scheme of the painting and choose your colors. I will use a warm light green for the large leaf on the left, and a blueish-green for the leaf on the bottom.

Then, I’ll leave the veins unpainted, and paint the remaining parts of the leaf. I’ll use thick coats of paint for the center of the leaf, and add more water as I paint outwards. Feel free to add more color because we already have a base coat on the leaves.

I’ll go through these steps a few more times to complete the painting.
