Phased Array Calibration
This video demonstrates calibrating the Olympus EPOCH 1000i UT tester for Phased Array Operation using the IIW Type 2 Reference block. The tester display is an A-Scan and S-scan 40 degree to 70 degree sweep. The calibration is 3 parts - 1) calibrate velocity (soundpath), 2) zero (wedge delay for depth) and 3) gain (sensitivity). Note: After gain calibration the tester will display TVG (Time Varied Gain), this varies the gain amplitude depending on the distance from a reflector.
Equipment: Olympus EPOCH 1000i tester, Olympus 5MHZ 16 element PA transducer 5L16-A10P, Olympus wedge SA10P-N55S and a carbon steel IIW Type 2 Reference Block.
