Baby Neo Hears for the First Time | Deaf Baby

Our baby boy was diagnosed with severe to profound hearing loss when he was born. After several ABR testing and a new pair of hearing aids, it it finally time to do one of the most important hearing test that will help is find out if he will be a candidate to receive a cochlear implant. Today was a very emotional day as this was the first time that we have gotten slightly different hearing test results. Although he is able to hear something with his hearing aids, it is not enough to develop speech and be able to learn verbal language. As his hearing parents we want to provide him with the most and best options, so we have chosen the CI option, while this may not cure his deafness and there certainly isn't a cure for people who are deaf, we hope that this will allow him to have the option to hear one day.
