Sinking of the Moskva EXPLAINED

On the 13 of April, 2022, the Slava-class cruiser Moskva (500 crew, 12,5000t displacement) was sunk 100km due south of the coast of Odessa, after being hit by 2 Ukrainian Neptune R-360 anti-ship guided missiles. In this video we review in detail the ships capabilities, the reasons why it was unable to fend of the strike, and the OSINT intelligence leading us to its position at the time of sinking. Furthermore, we dive into the capabilities of the newly fielded Ukrainian anti-ship missile complex 'Neptune" R-360, designed by the Luch bureau. Its development can be traced back to 2015, and after many years of teething pains, the system made its explosive debut at one of the pivotal moments of the Ukraine war, successfully destroying the largest Russian warship in the Black Sea, and denying the fleet an air defense umbrella, deterring its free movement in the south-western Black Sea, and hindering its abilities to launch cruise missiles against Ukrainian territory.
