Bernoulli's principle | Air | Physics
In this video, we suspend two balloons as shown and use a pipe to blow air between them. We expect that the balloons would get pushed outwards but we see that they move inwards and collide with each other. The reason behind this is the Bernoulli principle which states "Moving air exerts a lower pressure than static air". The moving air between the balloons is at a lower pressure while the static air on the outside is at a higher pressure. The pressure difference creates a force that pushes the balloons inwards and causes them to collide. The same principle comes into play when a house loses its roof in a storm. the air outside is moving so the pressure is low while the air in the house is static so the pressure is high causing the air inside to exert a force on the roof. If the roof is not fixed properly, it will get pushed into the storm and fly off.
