Municipality renaming causes rift at AmaQwathi Royal House
The AmaQwathi Royal House in Ngcobo, Eastern Cape, has bemoaned the renaming of the eNgcobo Local Municipality to Dr AB Xuma Local Municipality. The municipality was renamed in 2022 as part of applications received by the Provincial Geographical Name Committee. Members of the House claim they were not properly consulted about the name change.
