Wild Asiatic Indian Elephants at Kabini BackWaters | Nagarhole National Park | Male Tuskers in Musth

Am at the kabini backwaters on an expedition to spot the Asiatic Wild Elephants. As the summer sets in, it is that time of the year when the Wild Asiatic Elephants from around western ghats starts to congregate at Kabini reservoir for the river is filled with water even in summer and the banks of the river is filled with abundant green pastures which brings in all kind of wildlife to the backwaters.

Am at Kabini river lodge run by jungle lodges and resorts situated on the banks of river kabini at Nagarhole National Park. The evening boat safari takes you through Kabini backwaters and we get to see plenty of wildlife, birds and Indian Elephants.

Check out the video for some unbelievable sighting of Elephant herd. A herd with two calf and Matriarch was not the only surprise. Spotted a Maljurian which are the bachelor group of male tuskers. Male elephants usually are solitary by nature. However occasionally they form bachelor groups usually led by an older male.The beauty of Bachelor groups is that they form a pack when moving out of their habitat or doing something risky or just to pass on lessons like how to behave themselves when in musth. In the video is elephants fighting in musth and how older elephants discipline them.
