Israel tanks and troops roll into northern Gaza as Tel Aviv begins its invasion to destroy Hamas

Israeli Merkava tanks rolled into northern Gaza at the weekend as Tel Aviv began its invasion, on a mission to destroy Hamas. Footage posted by the IDF showed tanks standing guard while bulldozers cleared a path for infantry and armoured vehicles. More video showed the tanks being used to deploy smoke which acted as a shield for infantry moving in on foot. The IDF says it is ‘expanding’ its attacks on Gaza following an intense aerial bombardment on Hamas that targeted its command posts, ammo dump, and headquarters.
