Former President Thabo Mbeki delivers Walter Sisulu Memorial Lecture

The former President Thabo Mbeki delivers the reflections on the Freedom Charter at a memorial lecture of the late struggle stalwart Walter Sisulu. The Freedom Charter is endorsed by thousands of South Africans under the banner of the Congress of the People in Kliptown, Soweto, 66 years ago. The charter was signed six years after the Republic of South Africa Constitution Act of 1961 which legalised the discrimination and exploitation of South Africa's black majority.
