2007 BMW Z4 3.0si startup, engine and in-depth tour

Hello car people. Today's car review is of a 2007 BMW Z4 3.0si powered by a 3.0L N/A I6 (261 hp, 232 lb-ft) with a 6-speed manual transmission.

The BMW Z4 is a two-door sports car manufactured by German automaker BMW. The Z4 has seen three generations since its debut in 2002. The first generation, the E85/E86, ran from 2002-2008. The second generation, the E89, ran from 2009-2016. After the E89, the Z4 went on a two-year hiatus before the debut of the third and current generation, the G29, in 2018, which is still in production today.

The first-generation Z4 started production in 2002 as the successor to the BMW Z3. It is available as a coupe and a convertible, both with different codenames. The convertible version is known as the E85, while the coupe version is classified as the E86. The Z4 is larger and has a stiffer chassis than its predecessor. Originally, only the E85 roadster was sold. The E86 coupe wasn‘t available until 2006. That same year, the Z4 received a facelift, which was unveiled at the 2006 North American International Auto Show. The facelift included several adjustments to model and powertrain availability as well as styling. The last E85 Z4 rolled off of the production line on August 28th, 2008, only months before the announcement of the E89 Z4.
