India and Australia sign deal to use each other's military bases

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Australian counterpart Scott Morrison spoke during a virtual bilateral summit on June 4. Both countries have signed a deal to gain access to each other's military bases. The authorities said the pact will allow for more military exchanges in the Indo-Pacific region. This comes in the backdrop of India's ongoing border dispute with China.
