Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie was born on September 15th 1977 to igbo parents Grace Ifeoma and James Adichie in Enugu, Nigeria. She grew up in Nsukka Nigeria in a house formerly owned by late Prof Nchinua Achebe. At age 19, she bagged a scholarship to study communication and political science at Drexel university in Philadelphia USA. After a while , she transferred to Eastern Connecticut university to live with her sister who had a medical practice in conventry. Chimamandi refers herself as a femimist and in 2012 while giving a tedtalk she title her speech “we should all be feminists” she has been called the most prominent of all the procession of critically acclaimed young Anglophone authors.
