UPGRADE! How to Build a BETTER AIR BAIT CANNON for Surf Fishing! Easier build, shoots farther!

We'll show you how to build an even BETTER AIR CANNON to launch your surf fishing bait hundreds of yards offshore! This DIY design is a CHEAP, very EASY, very FAST BUILD and even more EFFECTIVE than our first BAIT CANNON!

Reach more and bigger fish by exceeding your own limits of casting a surf rod! Just like a potato cannon or potato gun, but a bait launcher instead! We went with compressed air pressure as opposed to flammable propellants as seen in other designs, and it still worked well!

BONUS: If you fish with a BAIT LAUNCHER and you're looking for alternatives to freezing your entire bait rig in ice - you NEED TO WATCH this video: https://youtu.be/nqdvNeaof1w ... In this video, we experiment with a few different methods to load and shoot your COMPRESSED AIR BAIT LAUNCHER WITHOUT FREEZING the entire bait rig!

Actual performance (distance) will vary based on air pressure (psi) in the cannon, weight of the bait rig, angle of launch, the specific rod / reel / line attached, wind and ambient conditions. This stuff can get dangerous, so, build and use at your own risk! Be safe and have fun!

Parts and materials (about $60 for me)
(1) 30"x 4" diameter pvc pipe (air chamber; I used schedule 40 for all pvc parts, but would actually recommend you go heavier)
(1) 5' x 1.5" diameter pvc pipe (barrel)
(1) 3" x 2" diameter pvc pipe (lower assembly connector piece)
(1) 3.5" x 2" diameter pvc pipe (lower assembly connector piece)
(1) 2" diameter pvc ball valve (trigger mechanism)
(1) 4" to 2" diameter pvc step-down connector (connects air chamber to trigger mechanism)
(1) 2" to 1.5" diameter pvc step-down connector (connects trigger mechanism (ball valve) to barrel)
(1) 4" pvc end cap (air chamber cap)
(1) rubber air valve (.453" diameter rim hole / 2" length; I bought mine at Ace hardware)

medium grade PVC primer and PVC cement
1/2" drill bit
tape measure
pencil
chop saw or hack saw
extension cord
whatever paint / spray paint you want for your own design
bicycle pump or other air pump to fill the air chamber (make sure you have a pressure gauge to measure how much air you're inserting!)
drill

**If you're also building the bait mold rack and bait molds**
(1) treated 2"x6"x4' lumber (bait mold holder)
(1) 5' 1.5" diameter pvc pipe (bait molds)
(5) 1.5" pvc pipe caps (caps for bait molds)
