Blow Fly (An Original Tribute to the late, great "Eddie" Hazel)

.....an original composition I wrote and recorded in February, 2011 in tribute to the great P-Funk guitarist, Eddie Hazel. Highly underrated as a soloist, he has influenced the rock guitar styles of many better known guitar artist including Lenny Kravitz, Slash,J Mascis and Mike McCready to name a few. Legend has it that funkadelic's "Maggot Brain," the 10-minute solo that turned the late Eddie Hazel into an instant guitar icon, was born when George Clinton told him to imagine hearing his mother just died – and then learning that she was, in fact, alive.

I opened this with a cover of the opening of "Maggot Brain" and the rest just flowed. This was recorded at my own MMM Studios. I played the lead on 1984 Peavey Milestone Guitar running through a Line 6 Vetta II, other outboard gear need not be mentioned (though I don't mind sharing that if it is of interest to you)
