Sewing Junk Journal 4 - A celebration of slow stitching and embroidery

This beautiful journal uses a base combination of digitals from my Sewing kits 1 & 2, my Add On kit and the Vintage Ladies kit. It became the fourth of four journals because I had so much fun creating the first and had so many ideas to explore. It is a celebration of vintage fabric, embroidery and the joys of stitching all rolled into one. The cover is created using interwoven strips of cotton, silk and lace stitched in place by embroidery with further fabric layers to add dimension including a ‘For the love of Stitch’ title printed onto cotton. A beautiful vintage layered crochet doily wraps the spine and the outer edge is trimmed in lace hand stitched into place. Full description on Etsy (see link below)
This is a hand crafted journal with two signatures made from new and recycled tea and avocado stained paper, digital printed pages envelopes, lace and fabric.
The cover is 175mm x 300mm (7” x 11 ¾”). The two signatures are approx 145mm x 230mm (5¾” x 9“) comprising of 102 pages full of pockets, paper and fabric tags, belly bands, flips and journal cards.
Decorated with vintage fabric ruffles, silk, cotton, lace, embroidery, paper and stitched collages, tags and cards, stencilling and stamping.
