During this discussion of the State of The Black Church, there was much emphasis on the "mega-church" and the prosperity gospel phenomena. It's centered around preachers who make the claims that bringing money to the altar will fix all your problems, i.e. "If you sow $20 seed right now, God will put a brand new Benz in your driveway....eh. Also, this video dissects the whole idea around preachers who perpetuate ignorance from the pulpit due to a lack of theological training, given at seminaries. Finally, it also deals with AIDS and how the black church should handle it, the discourse between the mega preacher (Bishop Noel Jones) & the prophet (Dr. Jeremiah Wright) is very interesting because of their similar sentiments on these issues.
