Imagining our future self is how we set goals and try to craft the life we want. But how do we navigate the many different possibilities the future offers? Instead of trying to answer the tedious question “Where do you see yourself in 5 years?”, Karoline Strauss wants to show you a new way of using your future self to achieve your dreams. Her team's research-based tool has helped thousands of people map out their “future work self” and find a new way to think about their future.
Karoline Strauss is a Professor of Organizational Behavior at ESSEC Business School in France. She holds a PhD in Organizational Psychology from the University of Sheffield. Strauss’ research focuses on the relationship between individuals and the future. Her research on “future work selves” explores how people's future selves shape their career trajectories and work experiences. In her work on proactive behavior, she examines how leaders and employees try to influence the future of their organizations by taking initiative, promoting their ideas, and initiating change.
