Audi R8 TDI... But Which Engine?

So the 1.9 TDI engine in the R8 was only an April fools, but we couldn't have asked for a better reaction. Some were all for it, others, not so much!

All pranks aside, we are genuinely looking to go ahead with the TDI R8 project but we'd like your input as to what engine you think we should go for?

We have ruled out the V12 due to its colossal size and V10 due to its age so narrowed it down to the V8 or V6 TDI. The main issue we are facing is the gearbox. We need something that will a. fit and b. hold the mass amount of torque we have planned for this top speed project.

Comment below which engine you would prefer and any viable gearbox suggestions!
