A lot of folks who are interested in the idea of making their own fireworks are often confused about where to start and whether or not it's really safe to even create your own fireworks. I felt that way too before I got started but I didn't let that stop me. I was able to find resources on how to make your own fireworks but back then the resources were kinda sketchy and the materials where often really hard to find. But I really loved the idea of making fireworks at home so I kept on it and started with really small projects. Some were successful and some weren't. But it wasn't long before I was able to progress to making some really good ones and now I even create my own fireworks show for my family!

I am promoting the Fireworks and Pyro Projects handbook because when I came across it I was stunned. I wish I had this resource when I got started! It contains tons of recipes for fireworks and includes step by step instructions along with videos. I have never seen a handbook so thorough. They explain everything in terms that I understand. Harry Gilliam wrote the book and he is the author of Skylighter so when I saw that I knew the book was credible. It contains all of the projects published on the Skylighter blog. He even covers fusing and electric ignition, and all of the equipment and tools necessary. For the materials, I was able to find them all at my local hardware stores. The book is in ebook format which is great so I can read it on my iPad while I'm working and then click through and watch the instructional videos instantly.

I highly recommend the Fireworks and Pyro Projects ebook to anyone who is serious about wanting to learn all there is to know about making homemade fireworks.
