Develop Locally the Same Way You Do in Production

So you want to work with kubernetes locally. How do you do it? Kubernetes is hard. Thankfully there are a few tools that you can use to make running a cluster on your local machine so much easier. In this video I show how to setup docker, minikube, and rancher based kubernetes clusters. You'll see that it's easy to do, but there is no perfect solution. Single node clusters can be up and running in seconds but it can take minutes to get something more realistic. I have all of them at the ready depending on my needs at that moment. By the way, that command I used to merge the kubeconfig files was: KUBECONFIG=~/.kube/origconfig:~/.kube/rancherconfig kubectl config view --flatten then pipe that to .kube/config - but YouTube wouldn't let me use the greater than sign to pipe to a new file. ------------------------------------------------------- Here are the tools I use to record almost every video here on YouTube: (these were acquired over many years) Panasonic Lumix GH5: http://geni.us/gh5tvt Panasonic Lumix 14-140mm/3.5-5.6 lens: http://geni.us/14140 Panasonic Lumix 20mm/1.7 lens: http://geni.us/oUhkZ Panasonic Lumix 7-14/4.0 lens: http://geni.us/lumix714 GoPro HERO7 Black (I actually have the 6, but the 7 is better): http://geni.us/hero7tvt Azden SGM-250 Shotgun Mic: http://geni.us/sgm250 iConnectivity ConnectAUDIO2/4 audio interface: http://geni.us/iconnectivity24 Heil PR-40 Dynamic Microphone: http://geni.us/pr40 Aputure Lightstorm 120D video light: http://geni.us/aputure120 Sometimes I use these as well: Glide Gear TMP100 Teleprompter: http://geni.us/ggtmp100 JOBY GorillaPod 5K: http://geni.us/gorilla5ktvt Gitzo Traveller Series 0 Tripod: http://geni.us/gitzotrav0
