Mazda 3 - Cars are getting RIDICULOUS this ISN'T.

Howard Ritchie asks whether the Mazda 3 might be one of the last small cars on sale today that still feels like a car and actually looks like one.

In a world where manufacturers seem locked in a competition to build the most complex, oversized, spaceship-like machines, Mazda appears to be doing something different. Almost deliberately so.

The Mazda 3 doesn’t chase gimmicks. It doesn’t try to reinvent what a hatchback is supposed to be. Instead, it focuses on something simpler — driving, proportion, feel, and familiarity. But that raises a bigger question… do people even want small, honest cars like this anymore?

In this review we look at:

How the Mazda 3 drives on UK roads
Its clean, restrained design inside and out
The engine range including Skyactiv-X
Cabin layout, tech, and usability
Ride, noise, and everyday comfort
Pricing, leasing, and whether it still makes sense

There’s also a wider question running through this test: in an era of ever-larger screens, software-heavy cars, and constant reinvention, is there still space for something this simple and do we even want cars this small anymore?
