But how can you make sure as a social media manager that you not only come off as a pro but THE social media manager for them?!

MY 3 TIPS TO SLAY YOUR DISCOVERY CALL
(as a fully booked out SMM + social media mentor)

1️⃣ Treat it like a first date + go stalking…

It might seem like a no brained - but you want to know a little bit before hopping on this call. I like to take a few minutes to go check out their profile, what I know about them from just a few minutes browsing, and if they come up when I search their niche or any related keywords.

2️⃣ Know WHY they booked the call

It might seem like a no brainer….but understanding WHY they’re booking a call with you: what are their social media goals, what have they tried, or is more of a time constraint for the reason.

Knowing their goals BEFORE the call let’s me prep for:

3️⃣ Have examples!

If they’re looking to save time on social media - I know I want to talk to how easy I can make the approval process and level of their involvement (and how I minimize my past client’s time spent on socials)

If they’re looking to increase reach, I want to touch on a strategy we’d build + metrics we’d focus on (and what I’ve done for other clients with that goal)

If they’re looking to expand to other platforms without making new content or being sucked into a new platform ….I’m going to speak to repurposing their past content and how they won’t even need to download the app if they don’t want to (and how I’ll communicate that new platforms success, just like I have with other clients).

🆓 BONUS TIP: Grab someone who can roleplay a discovery call with you! (I’ve actually done this as a focus for some of my mentoring clients!😉)

It can really help you feel confident as you practice and make sure the person you’re practicing with throws some curveball questions too!
