The third thing that often gets missed —
It’s not just what you eat,
or when you eat…
It’s how you eat.
Two things matter here —
the order you eat in…
and the speed you eat at.
First, food order.
If you start your meal with vegetables, then protein…
and then have your carbohydrates…
your body handles that meal more steadily.
Less spike.
Less crash.
Second, the way you eat.
Most meals today are rushed and not chewed properly
or eaten in front of a screen.
You should avoid both.
This is where mindful eating changes things.
When you actually look at your food,
smell it,
and taste it…
your brain gets to know that food is coming.
It starts preparing your body to handle it —
before the first bite.
But if you eat too fast…
your brain doesn’t get the signal.
Because your brain needs about 20 minutes
to get the “I’m full” signal to reach the brain.
Cooking method also slow your eating:
Steamed, stewed, or boiled foods
take longer to chew and eat
How you eat directly changes
how much you eat
and how your body responds to it.
Change the order,
change the pace…
and you change the outcome of the same meal.
