Use up your inventory of potato chip (brick) sized fabric scraps. In this pattern I use the size that I have from left over jelly rolls, binding strips and smaller scraps that have been given to me - these measure 2.5 x 4.5".

This is my chosen size, HOWEVER, this block works with any scrap that has a net measurement that equal 2 times length over the width (net sizes add 1/2" for seam allowances): 1.5 x 3" , 2x4, 2.5x5,3x6,4x8 etc.
As an example, using the 2.5 x 4.5 (net 2x4") fabric will yield a block measuring 16.5x16.5 (16" finished).
Each block requires 32 potato chips:
Background: 20 Example in video background 20 low volume at 2.5 x 4.5" each
Centre: 12 Example in video High Contrast 12 at 2.5 x 4.5" each

If you use the high contrast background (version 2 in the video) then use 20 potato chips plus 12 low volume for the center of the block.

So look no further, here is a great way to use them in fun and easy free pattern. Add as many sections to fit your own quilt design, I have made 4 blocks and will join alternating in a row and finish as part of a Quilt As You Go quilt project.
