We completed a 70-meter flood-resistant stone wall, built a safe fish pond, and kept our entire garden lush and green — all by hand in just 9 days, against harsh mountain weather in Vietnam.

Flood season was closing in on our mountain homestead. With heavy rains and flooding on the horizon, we had 9 days to finish the most ambitious build yet on Sang Vy Farm — a 70-meter stone retaining wall that would protect everything we've grown.
No machines. No shortcuts. Just two people, local stone, cement, and a farm worth fighting for.

Every stone carried, placed, and set by hand. This retaining wall construction is the backbone of our entire homestead — built to hold back mountain floodwaters season after season.

We're a young couple living off the grid in the mountains of Vietnam — building our farm from nothing using bamboo, wood, and stone. Every wall we raise is one step closer to a truly self-sufficient life. 🌄
