Was Hiroshima A War Crime?

The U.S. has never apologized for dropping two atomic bombs on Japan in 1945 that instantly killed almost 250,000 people. Survivors of the bombings have suffered radiation-caused health consequences. Was the bombing a war crime, or was it necessary to end the war? That debate hasn’t been settled yet.

So what’s the legacy of those two attacks? And what’s the risk of the U.S. dropping another nuclear bomb?

You will hear from atomic bomb survivor Wataru Namba and Asian studies professor Norma Field on the history and the legacy of Hiroshima and Nagasaki bombings.
