Episode 95: Strip & Square = An Excellent Scrap Quilt #diy #quiltingtutorial #charity #quilts

Two basic blocks transform into this Excellent Scrap Quilt which is a lot easier than first glance at the quilt design shows.

Each block measures 6.5 x 6.5" unfinished, the overall quilt size comes down to how many rows and columns you want to make. It is important to create the repeating pattern to start each odd row with Block 1 and each even row with Block 2. Please watch the video to see how I nest the seams to make building this quilt easier and also a no fuss way to make each block.

For a quilt that measures (unfinished and without borders) 48 x 60" you will need
40 of Block 1 and 40 of Block 2.

Block 1: A great way to use up Jelly Roll or binding strips
3 strips at 2.5" wide minimum length per block 6.5" (I strip set a variety of dark, light, dark to create this pattern). Using this colorway creates high contrast and makes the pattern show through.

Block 2: A great way to use up left over charm squares (or cut your own from scraps and/or yardage).
Each block used 8 squares that measured 5" (4 dark and 4 lights)
