This was no ordinary episode. In September 2005 Annie Nightingale took her show to the iconic Fernsehturm — the Berlin TV Tower — for a special all-night live outside broadcast, the second in her celebrated series of 'tower broadcasts'. The first had been the landmark 'Last Summer Sunrise' from the BT Tower in London in 2004; the third would follow from Portsmouth's Spinnaker Tower in 2006. The Berlin edition featured three breaks DJs: Splitloop, a UK nu skool breaks producer whose debut album Here on Business (Against The Grain) was released the same week; B-Phreak, a Mainz-based DJ and producer active in the international breaks scene; and Circuit Breaker, an electro and breaks DJ with international festival credits.

Broadcasting live from one of Berlin's most recognisable landmarks, Annie cemented her show's status as the most adventurous platform in UK dance radio — and demonstrated the international reach the breaks scene had achieved by mid-decade.
