Latest ground update (21.5.2026) for the famous Killar–Kishtwar “Cliffhanger Road” shows that the original dangerous 3.5 km cliff section is still not fully open for normal adventure riding traffic. BRO had earlier damaged/blasted entry-exit points of the old ledge route and most riders are using the newer bypass alignment now.

However, recent local discussions and government-level movement suggest restoration work is planned specially for adventure tourism and bikers. A recent discussion from Jammu region mentions official instructions for restoring the iconic cliff section near Tiyari village for controlled two-wheeler/adventure tourism use
For riders like Vijay Singh Rathore Rathore Rider who explore genuine off-road Himalayan terrain, this route still remains one of India’s most legendary cliff roads, but as of May 2026 it cannot be considered fully reopened officially for unrestricted adventure riding.
