The following fabric chart is a guideline using a variety of dark fabrics with high contrast and lighter fabrics with low contrast– please feel free to use what works for you and your stash – you may to choose a single colorway over all the blocks or use a mix and match which makes it truly a scrappy style quilt. I have included photos of my fabric pulls in the video so you can see how many times I switch around colors to get the look I am wanting - realize that using scraps can also be limiting and in the end it is your quilt so use what fabrics bring you joy. A special THANK YOU to Linda who sent me a wonderful package with a variety of fabrics - I used some of these treasures in this quilt design.

The unfinished size (without borders is 32” x 32”) – YES it is square BUT with the addition of repeating this pattern you can upsize and adding sashing and borders, the possibilities are endless. The smaller size demonstrated works well for a baby quilt or wheelchair quilt.
Although I used 4.5" squares in this design, to make this really scrappy, each 4.5" square can be made by joining 2 @ 2.5 x 4.5" Potato Chip sized fabric

Center Block:
Make 1 (will measure 8.5 x 8.5" unfinished)
4 HST's (Half Square Triangles) 4.5 x 4.5" unfinished (Dark/High Contrast with Light Background Fabric) OR
2 Flying Geese 8.5 x 4.5"

Main Blocks
Make 4 (each will measure 8.5 x 12.5" unfinished) quantities below are for EACH block
2 at 4.5 x 4.5" HST's (Dark /High Contrast with Light Background Fabric) OR
1 at 8.5 x 4.5" Flying Geese
4 at 2.5 x 25." squares for corners - Light/Low Volume of medium contrast Fabric
1 at 4.5 x 4.5" square OR 2 at 2.5 x 4.5" joined together Light or Low Volume Fabric
4 at 4.5 x 2.5" Flying geese (refer to video episode 61 "A Goose or Two" to see how I make these four up using 7.5" square and 6" square fabric) - Free chart available from The Fat Quarter Shop

Block C (note alternatives to use potato chip sized fabric)
Make 4 (each will measure 12.5 x 12.5" unfinished) quantities below are for EACH block
1 at 4.5 x 4.5" square (shown in medium green) OR use 2 @ 2.5 x 4.5" joined together
1 at 4.5 x 4.5" square in Light Background Fabric OR use 2 @ 2.5 2.5" 4.5" joined together
3 at 4.5 x 4.5" HST's (Dark /High Contrast with Light Background Fabric) OR
1 at 8.5 x 4.5" Flying Geese PLUS 1 at HST (Dark/High Contrast with Light Background Fabric)
2 at 8.5 x 4.5" using Light Background Fabric OR use 8 at 2.5 x 4.5 to make up these 2 blocks
