Build over one hundred years ago, this abandoned cannery was used to produce tinned vegetables and cucumbers. However, after the fall of the Berlin Wall the factory was closed and as a result of this the buildings were ablaze multiple times. According to local press this so called “eyesore” should have been knocked down to make way for recreation and sport areas, new bikeways and housing. But till now - three years later - nothing happened.

"Urbex" is a series of cinematic productions by BWT (Broken Window Theory). Every episode focuses on a new abandoned building which might be lost but not forgotten. It's not about to show the different locations in detail instead it's about to show the character of a place, the atmosphere - the beauty of decay. The viewer shall get a first impression and feel the urge to explore these places by his own.
