Was Hawking Wrong About Black Holes? (Q Scrambling) - Quantum Scientist Explains | Quantum Minutes

Can information be retrieved from a black hole?
Today's host, Dr. Christoph Sünderhauf, completed his doctoral research in the group of Prof. Ignacio Cirac at the Max-Planck-Institute of Quantum Optics in Garching, Germany. His research focuses on chaos in many-body quantum systems. Perhaps surprisingly, quantum scrambling is also linked to the information-theoretic properties of black holes.

In the new video series Quantum Minutes, our scientists explain fundamental quantum terms in an easy and understandable manner. The videos are shot in their actual laboratories where state-of-the-art quantum research is being carried out.

The Munich Center for Quantum Science & Technology is an excellence cluster of the German Research Foundation (DFG). The cluster consists of renowned institutions such as LMU München, TUM, Walther-Meißner-Institute, Max-Planck-Institute for Quantum Optics and the Deutsches Museum.
