Foundation Single Crochet, Half Double Crochet, and Double Crochet Tutorial | How to Crochet

Hello! Today's video is about the foundation single crochet (FSC), half double crochet (FHDC), and double crochet (FDC). It is basically a substitute for doing a foundation chain and 1 row of one of the above.

There are 3 main reasons that makes the foundation SC/HDC/DC a better option than a foundation chain. First, the result is stretchier. This can be very helpful when making wearables that need to stretch. Second, as the thumbnail suggests, it does not twist as much as a foundation chain. This can make a project so much easier to work with. And third, it keeps the project looking clean and even.
