Alice Cooper School's Out with Guest Orianthi 8/12/18 LA Greek Theater

===========================================================

What I have written below is part of my experience during that nights’ Meet and Greet with Alice Cooper. To me, it showed a normal family-man side of him. I waffled a long time whether or not I should post this as it may cause a bunch (more) of Ori vs. Nita comments. As always, rude comments will be removed. Not-so flattering comments are welcome….just be an adult about it.

When it was my turn to meet Alice (I was second), I sat next to him and told him “awesome show as always and what an incredible surprise ending”. He said “yeah, it’s a family affair. Calico (his daughter) was the vampire person. My wife plays the ballerina and nurse. We had Ori,” (now he rises from his chair and addresses everyone in the room, and in a louder voice, he asks) “Everybody see Ori?” (the room erupts with applause and comments along the lines of “that was so cool”). Alice, looking downward and appears to be in profound thought, raises his head and says “I just had the two best female guitarists onstage together” and the tone of his voice was like a proud papa talking about his kids. He sat back down and focused on me and said (paraphrasing now) “…I contacted her about 5 hours ago (it was now about 11pm), I said we gotta make this happen”. We chatted more, but I thought it was so cool that he spoke of Ori and Nita that way as in no favoritism. My wife and I left the Meet and Greet happy campers only for me to stumble into a huge bonus.

As we were leaving, the Greek was desolate except for a couple people standing at the curb talking. To my amazement, one of them was Ori. I waited for a lull in their conversation and cut in. I thanked her for the amazing treat of playing on stage with them again. We had some small talk ending with a selfie of me and her (my camera). I knew nothing of Ori other than Nita replaced her a few years earlier. My impression of her was very friendly, easy to talk to, cute and brave. I say brave because she put her arm around me for the selfie. I wouldn’t even put my arm me! A regular SUV stops at the curb with an average lady driving, window rolls down and Ori says my ride’s here (to the other guy that was with her). She places her guitar in the car, hops in and they drive off. No limo, no party van, no loud music from the pick up vehicle….it was such a non-rock and roll departure. I thought it was kind of sad she left by herself (not with the rest of the band). After I got home, I regretted that I didn’t tell her of Alice and his “proud papa” moment. She must know he’s proud of her, but it would have been nice to hear from a complete stranger that he speaks of her so highly. If Ori ever read this and had a thing for insignificant facts, she would know that the last person she took a picture with at the Greek Theater that night is the same guy that shot this video.
