Improving cultural Intelligence: connecting cities, connecting hearts | Merve Karaman | TEDxVenlo
Merve grew up with the drive of being a role model. She is very active and a volunteer for a lot of different organisations to make this world a better place. During her thesis, Merve did extensive research on how cultural intelligence works and how it is applied by managers in companies. During her talk she’s going to explain why cultural intelligence is important and how we can improve it by connecting cities and opening up our hearts. “The youth of today, are the leaders of the future. I want to make sure that every child knows the flavour of chocolate. We can only do that by opening up the borders and opening up our hearts.”
The 26 years old Merve grew up with the goal to be a role model. She is really aware of her environment and society and she wants to give something back. Merve is chairman of IQRA Venlo (youth organization), vice-chairman of the national youth committee of HDV Gençlik, local council of the municipality of Venlo and editor of the Turkish-Dutch news paper Haber. She studies business administration and law, and graduated last year.
This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at http://ted.com/tedx
