Live birth of new foal- Honey finally brings Mango into the world

News from Red Moon Ranch-This mama is Honey and this is her first foal. A colt actually, a Boy Named Mango, born Sunday 6/7.

WOW! Mango is finally here! After we took turns checking on the hour all Saturday night, and nothing happened obviously, I was thinking nothing would likely happen until Sunday night. So it was by chance that I decided at that particular moment to pop my head in the barn on my way to bring my horse Re, watermelon rinds that he loves. And Mango was on his way out!

Skip bred Honey with a small male Half-linger stallion with a very sweet disposition, to work primarily with children. Mango will hopefully also be small, like his mom and dad, and not as intimidating as a larger horse. He will grow up a well loved, well tempered horse that will be great with kids. Mango will teach kids first how to care for and be in relationship with such awe inspiring animals. Mango can also teach them social skills , how to be a good leader, how to think ahead and know their boundaries, how to communicate and finally, learn heart centered horsemanship as both Mango and the kids grow.
