Could you change the world by drinking your coffee Black? | Bartholomew Jones | TEDxMemphis
Could you change the world by drinking your coffee Black? Not only will this talk challenge you to reframe your relationship with your morning cup, it will ask you to reflect on the elements of your day-to-day life. How does authenticity drive purpose? Can removing comforting additives deepen your appreciation for beauty at its root...for coffee, music, and people? Maurice Henderson II (Bartholomew Jones) is a black coffee anthropologist, educator, rapper, behind the Memphis, Tennessee coffee company Cxffeeblack, alongside his wife Renata Henderson.
Bartholomew shares his knowledge of coffee with his community and the world on his Youtube channel and the Anti Gentrification Cxffee Club. Having recently created the first entirely Black coffee supply chain, he is reclaiming some of the value of a half-trillion dollar coffee industry for the people who originally built it, and whose labor keeps it going. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
