Californication Wasn’t Just a Comeback Album

Released on June 8th of 1999, Red Hot Chili Peppers dropped Californication — an album that went on to sell more than 15 million copies worldwide.

But this wasn’t just a comeback for the band.

It was also the return of guitarist John Frusciante, who came back after addiction, poverty, and serious health issues — helping the Chili Peppers find themselves again.
