Steely Dan Aja is an excellent, full-hour song-by-song study by British documentary series Classic Albums with new, live-in-studio versions of songs from the album. Steely Dan's 1977 sixth studio album Aja is considered by many as one of, if not the greatest album of all-time.

All songs were written by Walter Becker (guitar, bass) and Donald Fagen (lead vocals, synthesizer). Additional Aja musicians featured and/or interviewed in the Steely Dan documentary film include Larry Carlton – guitar, Dean Parks – guitar, Denny Dias – guitar, Rick Marotta – drums, Bernard Purdie – drums, Chuck Rainey – bass guitar, Paul Griffin - piano, Jim Keltner – drums, Wayne Shorter – tenor saxophone, Michael McDonald - backing vocals, Victor Feldman – Fender Rhodes, Steve Gadd - drums, Jay Graydon – guitar solo, and Jon Herrington - guitar.

Long-time Steely Dan producer Gary Katz, Engineer Roger Nichols, journalist Andy Gill, and songwriter Ian Dury provide interesting additional commentary on the complete 1999 music documentary DVD.
