Luster Leaf 1875 SunCalc Test vs Auto-Logging Sun Meter | Daily Light Tracking Explained

I tested the Rapitest SunCalc 1875 side by side with a 20-series auto-logging sun meter on my balcony.
Here’s what I observed:
• The SunCalc requires manual activation to start each 12-hour cycle
• During heavy clouds / very low light, the unit stops running
• It does not automatically resume the same daily cycle when sunlight returns
• It is not designed as a weather-sealed outdoor device
From what I understand, the 1875 is intended more as a representative sunny-day measurement tool rather than a continuous daily tracker.

The 20-series style meter I tested:
• Automatically logs daily exposure
• Stores around 10 days of history
• Is built for outdoor placement
If you're choosing a sunlight meter for balcony or garden placement, understanding how daily tracking works is important.
This video simply shows real-world conditions so you can decide what fits your needs.
