[교황레오14세] "교회는 사랑에 빠진 사도를 필요로 합니다" (2025.07.06)

사랑하는 형제 자매 여러분, 교회와 세상은 외적인 꼬리표처럼 자신의 신앙을 보여주려고 종교적 의무를 이행하는 사람이 필요치 않습니다. 대신 선교의 사명을 갖고 열심히 일하려는 이, 곧 어디에서나 하느님의 나라를 증거하는, 사랑에 빠진 사도를 필요로 합니다. 가끔 좋은 신앙심에 마음을 열거나 몇몇 이벤트에 참여하는 “때때로 신자”인 사람들은 부족하지 않을지 몰라도, 하느님의 밭에서 매일 기꺼이 일하는 분들은 적습니다. 이러한 분들은 복음의 씨앗을 마음에 심고, 이를 일상에서, 가정 안에서, 일하거나 공부하는 곳에서, 그리고 다양한 사회적 환경 모두에서 필요한 곳마다 열매를 맺습니다.

Dear brothers and sisters, the Church and the world do not need people who fulfill their religious duties simply to display their faith like an outward label. Instead, they need disciples enraptured by love, bearing the missionary call to witness God’s Kingdom wherever they go. There may be no shortage of “occasional believers” who open their hearts now and then to piety or take part in this or that event, but few are those willing to labor each day in God’s field. These are the ones who plant the seed of the Gospel in their hearts and cultivate it so that it bears fruit in daily life—at home, at work or school, and in every social setting where it is needed.
