Installing Parrot OS on VirtualBox is a simple and safe way to explore the operating system without modifying your main computer. The process starts by downloading the latest Parrot OS ISO file from its official website. Once you have the ISO, open VirtualBox and create a new virtual machine. Choose Linux as the operating system type and Debian (64-bit) as the closest match, since Parrot OS is built on top of Debian. Assign enough RAM and CPU cores to ensure smooth performance—typically 2–4 GB of RAM and at least two CPU cores work well for most users.

After creating the virtual machine, you’ll attach the Parrot OS ISO as a virtual optical disk inside the VirtualBox settings. When you start the VM, it will boot directly into the installer. Follow the on-screen installation steps to set your language, keyboard layout, disk configuration, and user details. Once installation finishes, reboot the virtual machine and remove the ISO from the virtual drive. The system will then boot into your newly installed Parrot OS environment.
