*The Ones Who Stayed* is a deeply personal cinematic short film inspired by my own life and experiences in animal rescue in Karachi, Pakistan.

This story follows a young girl struggling with loneliness, bullying, emotional isolation, and the feeling of never being “good enough” for the world around her — until she forms profound connections with stray dogs, cats, donkeys, birds, and other forgotten animals living on the margins of society.

In rescuing abandoned animals, she slowly begins to rescue herself.

Created for the UN AI for Good Film Festival in collaboration with PixVerse, this project combines AI-assisted filmmaking with emotionally grounded storytelling to explore compassion, grief, resilience, purpose, and survival.

This teaser is only a small glimpse into the full film, which cannot yet be publicly released due to festival submission guidelines.
